Operational
software,
engineered for
how you actually work.

We build bespoke tools and AI automation for UK small & medium businesses — the job management systems, booking platforms, and internal apps that replace the spreadsheets, clipboards and sticky notes your business currently runs on.

02 · What we build

Three kinds of
work. No agency fluff.

Every engagement starts with the Audit — that's how we make sure we're solving the right problem before a line of code gets written.

Digital Audit &
AI Opportunity Review

Two weeks. We map how your business actually runs, find the 3–5 operational bottlenecks costing you the most, and give you a ranked plan.

£495 · fixed fee
Build02

Bespoke software
& websites

Job management, booking, client portals, stock, e-commerce, internal tools. Built to your workflow — not a template bent around it.

£1,500 — £6,000+
Run03

Monthly support
& evolution

Software is never finished. We stay on hand for fixes, iterations, new features, and AI workflows that grow with you.

£800 – £1,500 / month
03 · The Audit

A fixed fee
to find out if software
will actually help.

£495+ VAT

50% credited back on any follow-on build. No retainer lock-in.

01

Operational mapping

Two 90-min calls with you and up to three of your team. We walk every process end-to-end — quoting, scheduling, delivery, billing.

Day 1–4
02

Bottleneck & tool inventory

Where hours are lost. Which tools you already pay for. Which integrations are held together with CSV exports.

Day 5–7
03

AI opportunity review

Honest assessment of where AI genuinely helps — and where it's being oversold. No hype, no invented use cases.

Day 7–9
04

Prioritised roadmap

A written, ranked plan — quick wins, 3-month builds, 12-month ambitions. Each item costed in hours reclaimed and £ saved.

Day 10–12
05

Build-or-buy recommendations

For each opportunity: bespoke build, off-the-shelf tool, or leave alone. We'll say when SaaS is the right answer — even though it's not what we sell.

Day 13–14
04 · How we work

Four phases.
No surprises, no scope creep.

Every project — whether a £2k website or a £40k platform — moves through the same four phases. You'll always know where we are.

01.Wk 1–2

Audit

Map the operation. Find the real problem — which is rarely the one you were told.

02.Wk 3

Design & fix-price

Wireframes, technical spec, fixed quote. You sign off before a line of code is written.

03.Wk 4–10

Build

Weekly demos. Real staging environments. Your team tests with real data from day one.

04.Ongoing

Operate

Handover, training, optional monthly retainer. We stay as long as you need, no longer.

05 · Sectors we serve

Different trades,
same operational mess.

We specialise in the sectors SaaS forgot — too small for enterprise, too specific for templates, too operationally complex for a Notion doc.

08 · Questions we get a lot

The honest
answers.

01Why does the Audit cost money? Other consultants do it free.+
Because free discovery calls are sales pitches. The £495 pays for real work — two weeks of mapping your business — which means we're accountable for the quality of the output, not for closing you on a build. If you decide not to work with us further, you keep the roadmap.
02We already have Xero / Shopify / Jobber. Can you work around those?+
Yes — and we'll tell you when to keep them. We integrate with the tools you already pay for. The goal is rarely "rip and replace"; it's usually "stitch together so your team stops copy-pasting between systems."
03Is "AI" just a marketing sticker?+
Sometimes, yes. That's why the Audit includes a no-hype AI review. We'll show you where LLMs actually save time — document parsing, triage, summarisation, classification — and where they're a distraction. If AI isn't the answer for you, we'll say so.
04How long does a typical build take?+
Small websites: 2–4 weeks. Operational tools: 6–12 weeks. Larger platforms: 3–6 months. We quote a fixed fee and a fixed end date — if we overrun, that's on us.
05Do we own the code?+
Yes. Full source code, documentation, and infrastructure are handed over on completion. No vendor lock-in. You can hire any other developer to maintain it.
06We're not sure we need software. We just need things to be tidier.+
Then the Audit is still the right call. Sometimes the answer is a better Google Sheets setup, a £20/mo SaaS tool, or changing one step in how you handle invoices. We'll tell you that — it's a better outcome for you than a £30k build you didn't need.
09 · Who you'll work with

I spent ten years building internal tools for businesses that couldn't afford a software team. onSync is that, as a service.

Before onSync I was the person a lot of founders phoned at 11pm when the spreadsheet broke. I've built job management systems for builders, stock control for manufacturers, booking platforms for clinics, and dispatch tools for couriers.

The pattern is always the same: the business grew faster than its tools. The operational mess isn't a personal failing — it's what happens when a 3-person workshop becomes a 20-person one and nobody had time to re-plumb the engine mid-flight.

That's the work. Unglamorous, specific, and worth doing properly.
